My Story

Hi, I’m Amy Anderson, founder of Hackberry Home Design. My passion for art and creativity began early—crafting with my mom and falling in love with art class at school. Over the years, I’ve been inspired by the creative women in my life—my aunts, cousins, and close friends—who helped shape my design eye and love for beautiful spaces.

After a long career in corporate project management, I made the leap into interior design, blending my organizational skills with my artistic side. What began as a full-service staging business with a close friend soon evolved into staging model homes and eventually designing for new construction. Today, Hackberry Home Design is the result of that journey—where creativity, structure, and a deep love for home come together.

The name Hackberry Home Design comes from Hackberry Street—the street I grew up on. It was a joyful place filled with neighborhood kids, bike rides, hide-and-seek, and lemonade stands. That season of life was one of the sweetest, and it’s the spirit I try to bring into every project: warm, welcoming, and full of heart.
